Bates Motel Season 4 has released five episodes till date and has shown the mentality of the series two stars. At the premiere of Season 4 in the United Kingdom, Freddie Highmore, who plays the lead role of Norman Bates hinted when his character is going to kill his beloved mother, Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga).

Bates Motel is said to be a prequel of Alfred Hitchcock's acclaimed movie Psycho, that shows a mentally disturbed Norman, who is running Bates Motel. The cult film reveals he had killed his mother but in his own mind, he has made himself believe that she is still alive. With the twists and turns that the TV series is showing to its viewers, it is just a matter of time when we will see how Norman will kill his mother and her husband.

In an interview with HeyuGuys, 24-year-old Highmore revealed that in the ongoing Season 4 of Bates Motel, there will be plenty of scenes that will show the swapping of identities between his character and Farmiga's character. Highmore, who started his career by starring in award-winning film Finding Neverland, further stated that it is obvious that with Norma's closeness towards Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell), there will come a time when Norman will kill both of them.

"He's Norman Bates so there are people he's going to kill this season but there's always this side of him of always trying to do the right thing and doing what he thinks is best."

In all the earlier seasons of Bates Motel, viewers have always found an ongoing incestuous romance between Norma and Norman and even Highmore thinks that their romance is going to be the biggest romance on the show.

"It's the most intimate we ever get to see Norman and Norma and there's an inevitability of their relationship, an inevitability that they have to be together and an inevitability their romance ultimately being the biggest romance on the show," he further added.

Hollywood Reporter reported in June 2015 that A&E has renewed the series for a fifth season as well. So, it is just a matter of time when we will get to see the end of Norma.

Bates Motel will return on A&E with all new episode titled Refraction on April 11, 2016.
