It certainly looks like Jackie Earle Haley is one of the most sought-after villains in Hollywood nowadays. Just a few months after joining the AMC series Preacher as Odin Quincannon, the Watchmen star has been cast in another villainous role for Amazon's The Tick! But will the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot actor face off against Idris Elba in Stephen King's The Dark Tower?

Deadline has just confirmed that Haley will play The Terror, the leader of an evil clan bent of global domination. The villain is "our world's epitome of a criminal mastermind" and has previously been played by Armin Shimerman in Fox's The Tick series back in 2001.

Haley will join Peter Serafinowicz, who will play the titular character in Ben Edlund's comic book series. Edlund will also produce the Amazon pilot.

Although it's easy to imagine Haley as a villain in just about any possible film or TV show, there is much excitement over the actor possibly appearing in The Dark Tower as the vampire leader Sayre. If a deal is made, Haley will go up against Elba's Roland Deschain and possibly team up with Matthew McConaughey's Man in Black as well as Abbey Lee Kershaw's Tirana. The first Dark Tower will be directed by Nikolej Arcel.

Haley was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Little Children. He has appeared in numerous films including Dark Shadows, Lincoln, Parkland and RoboCop. Haley has also tried his hand at directing the John Travolta film Criminal Activities.

There is no word yet on when The Tick will air while The Dark Tower is scheduled for release on February 17, 2017. Catch Haley as the evil Odin in Preacher, which premieres on AMC on May 22.
