On Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the comedian and HBO host talked about the current debt crisis in Puerto Rico, as things look grim for this US Caribbean territory. To better explain the situation the island is facing, Oliver brought in arguably the most famous man with Puerto Rican ancestry working right now: Lin-Manuel Miranda, the man behind Broadway smash, Hamilton.

On last Sunday's episode of Last Week Tonight, Oliver went on one of his hilarious and insightful rants about the current issues the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is facing. During his monologue, Oliver basically called Miranda a national treasure, saying he and his amazing talent were among the things the country should be grateful for.

Later, after making his own plea regarding the crisis in the Caribbean territory, Oliver introduced Miranda as already being in the studio. The recent Pulitzer Prize winner did an emotional rap about the crisis his parents' homeland is currently going through.

"A commonwealth with not a lot of wealth and not quite nation, $70 billion topic of conversation," Miranda raps in the clip. "Hoping to God John Oliver's comical dissertation resonates with the Congress that got us in this situation, along with suicidal tax incentive declarations. Yeah, we'll pay your bonds first, close the hospitals, f*ck the patients. This is an island, 100 miles across, a hurricane is coming, and we're running up a loss."

Miranda also promises Republican Speaker Paul Ryan he'll "come sing Hamilton at your house" and he'll even wear his "Hamilton blouse" to have the Congress approve the current proposal for a relief for Puerto Rico.

Leave it to the man who turned Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton's cabinet discussions into rap battles to actually weave complex debt lyrics into his rhymes.

Oliver has already talked about countries in debt (like the Argentina default), but it's also not the first time Miranda steps up to talk about the current situation in Puerto Rico, and he even name-dropped it it to his viral freestyling clip on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
