NBC Blindspot S01E18: In the Comet of Us Jaimie Alexander/Sullivan Stapleton Premiere Recap

NBC continues with the midseason premiere of Blindspot. In episode 19, will Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) be able to solve another piece of the tattoo map in In the Comet of Us?

Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) meets with her former lover Sofia. Someone is coming after her and Sofia needs Bethany's help. Tasha (Audrey Esparza) and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) go over the numbers of a new tattoo, which points to a football team. Edgar (Rob Brown) knows the coach at the university they are investigating. 

At the college campus, Kurt gets radio silence as the shooting starts. In the flashback, Tasha is in a group anonymous meeting, but the counselor  doesn't believe she will return. During the campus shooting, Tasha and Edgar work the crowd control. At the cafeteria, Tasha takes out one of the shooters before helping a wounded civilian.

While Tasha carries the wounded coach, she empties her clip at another shooter. In the flashback, Jane drinks the tea that Oscar made for her. Because of his feelings for her, Oscar (François Arnaud) cannot be Jane's handler. Jane begs him not to disappear as  she gets called in for work.

During the shooting, Jane and Kurt split up to cover more ground. At the auditorium, Jane spots a runner being chased by a shooter. Jane takes the gun away from a frightened security guard. Following the gunfire, Jane and the security guard help out a wounded civilian. 

Jane and Tasha double-team against the shooter and bring him down. All of a sudden, a nearby explosion shakes the ground. In the flashback, Kurt wants his father to stay at his home. There is no guilt for the years they missed; the father forgives the son. Back at the shooting, Kurt finds a wounded professor in his classroom.

With a name, Kurt chases after Levi and Hart and finds a bomb rigged to a door. Kurt then breaks a window, climbs out, and breaks into the next room. With a group of scared students, Kurt leads them to safety. He then finds himself being shot at by Levi. 

All of a sudden, an explosion occurs below their feet. As Kurt meets up with Tasha and Jane, they haven't found Reade though. In the flashback, Edgar is getting tailored for a new suit. After separating from Tasha, Edgar deals with wounded civilians and tries to get a frightened girl to safety.

Edgar accidentally triggers the bomb, reworks the pin, and ducks from the blast. Levi points the gun at the back of Edgar's head. With the radio back on, Kurt hears Edgar's voice. Levi reveals the coach has been sexually molesting the students and bribing the victims. After Edgar offers him a second chance, Kurt then shoots Levi in the head.

Edgar promises to the coach that he will put him away. Back at headquarters, Bethany orders the team to get some rest. As Jane begs Oscar to stay, Kurt and Edgar share a drink. Tasha reveals when she lost her partner and started gambling. 

Bethany hands in all her money to Sofia. Meanwhile, Oscar has to dispose of Carter's body.
