Duke of Cambridge William and his brother Prince Harry made news last week after it was revealed the two had dropped into the London studio where Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode 8 is filming -- but it seems the visit wasn't their only contribution to Lucasfilm. A new cast report has surfaced saying the two royals will be following Daniel Craig's footsteps ... playing Kylo Ren's stormtroopers!

According to UK outlet The Daily Mail, the two royals took advantage of their time on set to become part of the Star Wars universe. Apparently, what happened was that it was said on-set that they were going to have "lunch and a private tour" and what actually happened was that director Johnson told the two to "get suited" and they went to the wardrobe department.

There, they were fitted into First Order stormtroopers costumes and were part of a scene where Daisy Ridley's Rey and John Boyega's Finn "infiltrate a secret base." Also in the scene is new Star Wars addition Benicio Del Toro, so there will be plenty of celebs around that moment -- even if Queen Elizabeth's most famous grandsons won't be seen!

It wouldn't be the first time famous people dipped their toe into a galaxy far, far away: last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens was actually filled with celebrity cameos, including the previously mentioned Craig as a stormtrooper, British comedy actor Simon Pegg as Unkar Plutt, Bill Hader as one of the voices behind BB-8, Greg Grunberg as Snap Wexley and even prequel Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor, who recorded one line for the film.

The still untitled Star Wars: Episode 8 has been shooting for a couple of months. It might actually be nearing the end of production. Johnson still has about a year and a half until the film comes out to make it a worthy sequel to last year's Force Awakens, which was directed by J.J. Abrams.

Episode 8 will reach theaters on December 15, 2017.
