The Flash S02E20 Rupture Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Patton Premiere Recap

The CW network continues with the mid-Season 2 premiere of The Flash. In Episode 20, are Iris West (Candice Patton), Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), the scarlet speedster, ready to survive Rupture?

While Barry races at the treadmill, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) drives the hologram. The cops witness a hologram of The Flash stopping the car chase. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) believes the idea will not last long. Iris joins the others shooting down Wells' idea as he wants to recreate the dark matter. This is the only way to save Caitlin and get Barry's speed back.

Barry meets with Henry (John Wesley Shipp) at his cabin. After keeping him up to date, Henry recognizes Garrick's name and asks, does Barry need powers to be The Flash? Using his vibe powers, Cisco sees his brother in the flashes. 

Henry is back at the lab but Wells isn't too happy about this. At the precinct, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) protects Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) when Zoom shows up with Caitlin. Zoom tells everyone that the city is his. 

With Zoom back, Joe has to keep Wally and Jesse safe. Wells now knows his accelerator explosion is the only thing that can work. Hunter (Teddy Sears) tells Caitlin that he doesn't want to alone anymore. He wants Caitlin to unlock her darkness. Cisco visits Dante as they argue about being kidnapped by Captain Cold and Heat Wave. They're never been close and that's never going to change. 

Wally and Jesse are now locked in the secret white room. Henry argues with Joe and Wells about Barry's future. Barry shows up during the argument but the decision has to be done on his own. After leaving the club, Cisco and Date are attacked by Rupture. 

Dante us shocked to see his face on Rupture's. Using his head, Cisco hits Rupture with his van and drives away. Rupture believes Vibe is the one responsible for killing his brother, Reverb. Iris and Barry have their talk; she cannot go through it again. Iris reveals she has been thinking about him; maybe they're meant to be together. 

Iris needs Barry to know that he is the one she wants a future with. Barry doesn't know what to say. Caitlin listens to Zoom's battle of attack with Rupture. As Caitlin gets a call to Joe, Barry will  recreate the explosion unless he knows it will work.

Cisco tells Dante that he is a metahuman. During Rupture's attack, Cisco and Barry use the hologram to trick him. After Rupture is arrested, Zoom learns Caitlin betrayed him. After Zoom kills the entire police force, he murders Rupture. Zoom promises that Caitlin's affection will not stop him from killing Barry.

After watching Rupture die, Cisco and Dante reconcile. Barry has no choice but to accept Wells' plan. With Cisco as the lightning rod, Barry is clamped to the Wells' device. Barry and Iris look at each other one last time. Barry tells Henry that the Flash is his best version. Jesse and Wally escape when Cisco conducts the electricity.  

Zoom screams as the speed force evaporates Barry and hits Jesse and Wally. Zoom laughs knowing they killed Barry instead.
