The CW network continues with the mid-Season 2 premiere of The Flash. In Episode 20, are Iris West (Candice Patton), Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), the scarlet speedster, ready to survive The Runaway Dinosaur?

With Barry gone, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) desperately searches for him. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) finds Jesse and Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) lying on the floor. Henry (John Wesley Shipp) wants to mourn for his son but has to be a doctor first. Cisco touches the costume, uses his vibe powers, and realizes Barry is alive.

Barry wakes up in his bedroom and finds the The Runaway Dinosaur storybook. Back in his own home, Barry meets Joe (Jesse L. Martin), a representation from the Speed Force. Joe explains the history of the Speed Force, the source of his power. Joe refuses to let Barry go until he catches the black blur.

Henry doesn't have anything left with Barry gone. He notices Jesse is in deep sleep, which is why he needs Eobard Thawne's records. Cisco takes Iris (Candice Patton) to the morgue, where they find a zombified Girder. In fear, Cisco gets behind Iris as zombie Girder sees a reflection of himself and tears through a wall.

In the Speed Force, Barry meets with Iris at the park. Barry wants to why he was given his super powers. Wells realizes the particle accelerator explosion has caused a dead metahuman to come back to life. While Girder steals a car, Wells works on Cisco to become a beacon to bring Barry home.

Barry hears Cisco calling for him and sees a rift in the force. If Barry returns now, he will return without his powers. Barry turns away from Cisco and chases after the blur. Joe and Henry figure out the path of Girder's destruction; he's after Iris. Joe isn't too happy about using his daughter as bait.

Back in the Speed Force, Barry meets with his father and visits a cemetery. He hasn't visited his mother's grave. Wally thinks Joe is talking about puberty. His powers seem to be dormant. While Girder chases after Iris, Barry will never be at peace letting his mother die.

As Girder enters the room, Cisco shoots him with electro-waves that won't work. Back at home, Barry sees his mother sitting in the living room. His mother tells him he has to find a way to move on. The Flash cannot outrun every tragedy.

Barry gets a kiss from his mother, listens to her storytelling, and recites the children's book. Barry then catches himself, puts on the costume, and gets ready to return. He hears Iris' voice and runs towards her, grabbing her hand.

Back in the real world, The Flash meets zombie Girder and continues with the plan. The speedster catches in a whirlpool and fires up the electromagnets. Girder looks at Iris one last time before crashing to the floor.

The Flash touches Jesse's hand and sends an electro-charge to wake her up. Henry promises to his son that he's not going anywhere. Iris and Barry visit his mother's grave, hug each other.

Zoom (Teddy Sears) gives Caitlin a chance to escape; she will have no mercy if he leaves. Zoom has brought in every super-villain from Earth-2.
