The Brooklyn gang GS9 that was introduced to the world by rapper and member Bobby Shmurda has been radiosilent these days. After the whole gang was taken into custody for a slew of charges ranging from conspiracy all the way up to attempted murder, fans have been awaiting the fate of the "Computers" rapper. While Shmurda is currently out on bail, one of his fellow gang members Rasha aka Rashid Derissant has been sentenced to 98 years in prison.

Last month, as Fox New York reports, a NYC court found Derissant and Alex "A-Rod" Crandon guilty of murdering a 19-year-old rival gang member in Brooklyn. While Shmurda aka Ackquille Pollard is not facing any charges related to this murder, there is a reality that he to may be sentenced to some hard time due to the city's stance on gang violence.

According to VladTV, Derissant was convicted on 22 counts including conspiracy in the second and fourth degrees, murder in the second degree, attempted murder in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, assault in the first and second degrees, attempted assault in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal use of a firearm in the first degree.

Although the "Computers" rapper has not yet started trial, tensions are definitely high in Brooklyn at this time.

New York City's Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced Derissant's sentencing yesterday.

"The sentence imposed today reflects the terror that the defendant's crimes instilled in his own community, and wherever else he engaged in wanton violence to settle scores," Brennan said in a press release. "It also underscored the value of the lives lost and tragically damaged."

Currently, there are charges pending against 19 other members and associates of GS9 related to this indictment. By the looks of it the 90z section of Brooklyn is going to be pretty quiet this summer.
