Disney's Frozen 2 has no official release date but the sequel to the super hit musical film has already created a buzz over the internet. If reports are to be believed then Disney may walk on some uncovered territories with this such as giving Elsa a girlfriend.

Over the past few months, fans of Frozen are taking to the social media platforms to express their views on showcasing Disney's first lesbian character. #GiveElsaAGirlfriend is also making a huge round and fans are hoping that Disney might consider their wish to present Elsa as a lesbian.

Here are few tweets from Frozen fans that are making a round over the internet:

Given the history of Frozen's sensational song, "Let it Go," one can assume that Disney will think over the issue. Current Hollywood reported that the Academy Award-winning song let many activists believe that it actually talks about Elsa coming out about her sexuality.

In an interview with Yahoo, when it was asked to Frozen's co-director, Jennifer Lee, about her views on the interpretation of the song, Lee simply stated that the film belongs to the fans and they are free to look at it in any possible way.

"We know what we made. But at the same time, I feel like once we hand the film over, it belongs to the world, so I don't like to say anything, and let the fans talk. I think it's up to them," Lee added.

But at the same time, a lot of Disney followers think otherwise. According to a recent petition filed on CitizenGo.org, there are around 150,000 fans who have signed the petition and stated that matters like LGBT are not something which they want their children to see at this age.

"We're suggesting a much better idea ... An idea that promotes solid family values to our children and represents the natural family."

Disney has yet to comment on Elsa's future in the upcoming film.
