The most revered cult television series is back after twenty-five years. "Twin Peaks" is a series in the early 90's which followed the lives of the residents of an outlandish town. The town was shocked when homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) was murdered, which served as the plot of the story. The town's secrets were gradually exposed as the FBI Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) investigated the murder.

The Golden Globe® and Peabody Award-winning series continues what has happened after twenty-five years. The show's creators David Lynch & Mark Frost had been very quiet about the series' filming and even the actors were tight lipped. Now that shooting had wrapped, a trailer teaser was released but with no footage of the series, leaving more excitement and questions from viewers.

The teaser shows composer Angelo Badalamenti on the piano with the most recognizable score on television and will be back to score the series follow-up according to SlashFilm. The teaser showed him on an eerie looking backdrop of a forest. A photo of Laura Palmer also showed up on screen, giving a hint that the series will still be based on her.

According to Independent, Showtime's CEO David Nevins called the series "stupendous". It was reported that the serial drama follow-up will consist of eighteen episodes and will showcase both original and new casts.

The return of the series is made up of a whooping 217 cast. Kyle MacLachlan will still play the role of FBI Agent Dale Cooper along with original casts like David Duchovny, Ray Wise, Miguel Ferrer, Sherilyn Fenn and Mädchen Amick. They will be joined by stellar casts including Monica Belluci, Ashley Judd and David Lynch's regular collaborators Naomi Watts, Michael Cera and Amanda Seyfried. Although the limited series is reported to premiere on Showtime on the first half of 2017, no updates have leaked which or what characters the new actors are playing.
