No word has been out yet from Netflix of the release date for their Marvel spin-off "The Punisher." However, actor Jon Bernthal was recently seen in Brooklyn sporting a full head of hair, a grizzly mustache, black clothes and combat boots - the overall "Punisher" look - while working. This leads people to believe that the series is in the works.

"The Punisher" is Marvel comic character which has been adapted to television and movie in the past. "Punisher" is the moniker that former U.S. Marine Captain Frank Castle took when he went vigilante after his family was killed. He was introduced in Marvel/Netflix's Daredevil Season 2 where Berthal played Frank Castle. He took the show's fans by storm and even stole the spotlight which earned him his solo series, according to ComicBook.com. They added that the show is working under the title "Crime".

It was only reported that the actor will be busy shooting for Netflix in October but no word has been out of the project. JustJared recently posted a photo of Berthal, coming from work, sporting what seems to be "The Punisher's" new look, instead of the crew cut and stubble the Marvel character always donned. It was reported that the actor will not be able to attend all four days of the New York Comic Con 2016 because of his "Netflix production schedule".

No other detail is known of the series' production other than British actor Ben Barnes joined the cast. It was speculated that Barnes will play the dirty mob boss Bobby Saint. Although no release date has been announced, the recent sighting of Jon Berthal and casting of Bobby Saint made fanatics thinks that the production team of the series would just want to be ahead with shooting before any announcement will be made.

With other Marvel series-including "Jessica Jones" Season 2, Iron Fist and the mini-series "The Defender"- to be released soon on Netflix, "The Punisher" is expected to be released in 2018, though fans are hoping that it will be sooner.
