Over the years the Bermuda Triangle have been given a number of nicknames such as The Devil's Triangle, HooDoo Sea, Triangle of Death, and many more.

The mystery of this place got its reputation from being said to be the reason for numerous accounts of plane and ship disappearances. Some of the known cases are the "disappearances" of USS Cyclops, Mary Celeste "The Ghost Ship" , C-54 Skymaster, Tudor Star Tiger, and several other cases. Recently, there has been an explanation released as to why these occurrences take place.

Science Channel's show "What On Earth?" includes several science experts that elucidated the theory of the "Bermuda Triangle". Their theory claims the rare but very natural occurrences of hexagonal cloud formations called "Air Bombs", according to Us Weekly these Air Bombs can reach speeds up to 170 miles per hour and be as wide as 20 to 50 miles, this now creates waves more than 45 feet high. A force with that kind of pressure can take down objects that cross into the specific location between Bermuda, Miami, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

That certainly does seem like a better explanation compared to other theories that were also given. Theories about the Bermuda Triangle have ranged from the "Sargasso Sea" phenomenon, electronic fog, and even erupting sea floor that releases methane gasses. Some explanation even stretches out into supernatural causes that includes sea curses and UFOs.

An article in Science Alert explains that the idea became really popular in the 1970s, when Charles Berlitz published the best-selling The Bermuda Triangle, and everyone began to speculate about UFOs or rogue waves that were always around the water region.

The article also stated that NASA researchers the hexagonal shaped clouds ranged between 20 and 54 miles, something the naked eye is not capable of seeing the entirety of it (just in case one decides to look up the sky and look for hexagon cloud shapes).

These hexagonal shapes over the ocean formed by what are called "microbursts" are said to be uncommon in fact it's believed to be a potential evidence of a new weather phenomenon. As interesting as that it, nothing about it can be considered mysterious at all. Can this finally be the real explanation behind the infamous Bermuda Triangle?
