Hilary Duff and her boyfriend Jason Walsh earned criticism for their Halloween costume at the Halloween Party on Friday night at the Casamigos Tequila in Beverly Hills last Friday night.

According to Perez Hilton, the 29-year old former Disney star is wearing a sexy pilgrim costume while her boyfriend trainer Jason Walsh, is dressed as a Native American 'chief' which people find very offensive, with additional red paint on his face and a headdress to elaborate the outfit further.

On the other hand, instead of earning compliments, the costumes of the couple earn lots of controversies as Twitter fans quickly blasted for their offensive costumes. A fan wrote a comment on Twitter, "I cannot believe Hilary Duff looked at her boyfriend and thought 'yes this costume is perfect and not offensive,'" as per Mail Online.

Now, Hilary is under fire on social media for letting her boyfriend Jason to go in those offensive costumes. "Hilary Duff must apologize for your disgusting costume and to native people of this land who continue their struggle to be seen, heard and respected," one person wrote on a comment.

Another person noted about the costumes of Hilary Duff, "No, Hilary Duff traditional dress is not a costume, and you being dressed as a pilgrim proves to me how insensitive and ignorant you are." People are still pointing out that Hilary and Jason have lost their sense of nationality  in wearing those costumes.

Amid of the mere criticisms from people of America, Hilary Duff used her Twitter account to apologize for her and Jason Walsh's costumes, "I am so sorry to people I have offended with my costume. It was not properly thought through and I am really truly, from the bottom of my heart, sorry."

It is such a not good idea for them to wear that kind of costume at the Casamigos Party, especially when Twitter followers are doubly offended of the ongoing struggle and protests over the Dakota Access Pipeline. Wherein against popular demand, the sacred Native American sites of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe an oil pipeline was still built.
