Google has released Android 7.0, its newest mobile Operating System. Dubbed as Nougat, most upcoming phones will have it pre-installed. Unfortunately, not all existing phones will be getting the update.

HTC 10 is scheduled for a November release, and there's a big possibility that Nougat will be its OS. One A9 and One M9, also from HTC, will be receiving the update before the end of 2016.

As for Sony, the Experia Z3 will be getting the developer version of the software, though not the full update, according to Tech Radar.  The other entries of the Z-series, (Z3+, Z4 Tablet, Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium) as well as the X-series (X, XA and XA Ultra) will be getting the full update, though no time frame has been given as of yet.

Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge came out with the beta version of Nougat, and will need to activate it by downloading the Galaxy Beta App. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition, the Batman Injustice edition and the infamous Note 7 will not be getting the update.

Owners of LG's G5 won't have to wait long for the update, as the OS is made available already in South Korea. Other markets will be getting the upgrade soon enough. LG V20 came out in late October with the Nougat pre-installed. There is no word though if the V10 and the G4 will be getting the update.

Neurogadget reports that OnePlus 3 might launch under the Nougat platform. OnePlus 2 will be getting the upgrade after its release. As for OnePlus X and OnePlus One, the incompatibility of its processor means it won't be getting the update.

Android Nougat is called by some as the "big refresh" for Google's mobile phone and tablet OS. It boasts multiple new features, like the multi-view or split-screen mode, direct replying from the notifications, a customizable quick menu, bundling notifications by application, and so on.
