Green Day infuses politics into their performance: Anti-Trump AMAs Chant

Greed Day has drawn the attraction from the crowd during the American Music Awards by inserting politics into their performance on their single "Bang Bang."

The band performed their song again on The Late Late Show and they told the host James Corden the reason they addressed the president-elect from their stage. Singer Billy Joe Armstrong told James that they did not rehearse the song and the origin of the chant was from another band, MDC as per MTV.

He further made a statement saying that "We're just as much as shock as everybody else is about this, but I think with the AMAs, for us, it was a good start to challenge him about his ignorant policies and racism." The singer was probably in a shock to the victory of Donald Trump.

While performing in the middle of the song Billy chanted "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA." His chant certainly caught up with the protesters since the election as reported on the Rolling Stone.

Going back to the eighties, the hardcore group MDC wrote a song "Born to die" about the Nazis in Austin, Texas. It was then that Dave Dictor was chanting something similar "No war, no KKK, no fascist USA." It sure looks like Green Day has been inspired by MDC.

While the Anti-Trump protest continues it seems to be tuning into songs these days, the band stated that the line "No Trump, no KKK, no Fascist USA" captured what they wanted.  However, not everyone is fascinated with the chant but it was just Green Day's way of expressing through their music.

The band made a statement when they were asked about the personal feelings towards president-elect Trump saying that America is heading down a very dark road and they are sad to think about the lines on Mexican rapists and barring Muslims in the country.
