Steve Aoki Not Really a Fan of My Chemical Romance? Gerard Way Corrects DJ's Song Mistake

Gerard Way and Steve Aoki recently collaborated for a "Black Parade" remix, one of the most notable songs from My Chemical Romance. The remix was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the song and the album and it was revealed that the collaboration was confirmed in January 2016. However, when Steve Aoki was asked what his favorite My Chemical Romance song was, he was corrected by Gerard Way.

In an exclusive report by Buzzfeed, Gerard Way and Steve Aoki were interviewed regarding their collaboration of My Chemical Romance's "Black Parade." In the earlier portion, Steve Aoki stated that it was honor to be able to work on the song as it was considered to be iconic during the time it was released.

It was established that the two were fans of one another but when Steve Aoki was asked by the interview for other favorite My Chemical Romance songs, the EDM musician said he loves "So Long and Goodnight." Gerard Way corrected him and said that the title was "Helena." The My Chemical Romance frontman was able to easily state what his favorite from Steve Aoki was "I Love It When You Cry."

With regards to the Black Parade 10th Anniversary Remix, Gerard Way only had good things to say about Steve Aoki and his work. Way stated that he loved the remix right away because of the sounds and the way Steve Aoki was able to retain its "intensity" and putting a newness not heard before, NME noted.

With regards to the reunion of My Chemical Romance which was heavily asked for by fans around the world, Gerard Way says that there aren't any plans yet. However, he added that everyone in the band is in good terms with one another and are in contact.
