Reigning F1 champion Nico Rosberg is deciding about retiring from the racing ahead of the F1 season which is scheduled to begin in March.

The season platitude certainly applies to Rosberg as the German racer will not be taking part in March's Australian Formula One Grand Prix.

In an interview he revealed that he'll be at home sitting on a couch which will make him feel very weird. He added he'll be excited new cars and battles in the F1 and definitely will be following all future race events and tournaments.

Under the new set of technical regulations in 2017, the fastest racing cars in the world are about to get even more faster with a wider chassis, fatter tires and higher cornering speeds. Champion Rosberg has thought otherwise and is plotting rest schedule after a gruelling year challenging for the world title from his Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton.

The German has lost the title to Hamilton in 2014 and 2015, but claimed the championship in 2016 by beating Hamilton by 5 points in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He retired five days later after the win.

Rosberg recalled saying the pressure and intensity was always high in the competition, there were some really tough moments in his career. He said losing two Championships to Hamilton was very very tough for him.

Living in the moment was key to Rosberg's title truimph in 2016 but a high weight of expectation had been hanging over his head for more three decades. His father Keke, was also a World Champion and the German was relieved to win it after 34 years of his father's feet.

The pair are only the second father and son to both win the F1 championship following the late Graham Hill and his son Damon. His future planning after retirement seems quite clear, the 2016 winner will be go-karting in South France if he feels the need of driving. He craves for more competition in his life with different sports.
