The photographs of Mrs Trump wearing the dark, knee-length cocktail gown, which retails for almost $4500, to a New Year's party in Palm Beach, Florida, have reignited voices on both sides of the "who will dress Melania Trump" debate.

Taking after the disputable decision of her better half, President-elect Donald Trump, a few creators said they were "boycotting" the future first lady, including Sophie Theallet, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford reports, AUNews.

Other designers, including most recently Diane von Furstenberg, have said Mrs Trump ought to get an indistinguishable treatment as any other first lady through history, having entry to whichever dresses she needs to wear.

Hypothesis surrounding Mrs Trump's inaugration outfits, both for the ceremony and the ball, has revolved around Ralph Lauren and a few different US designers yet to transparently announce their stance on the issue.

In spite of the fact that it is standard for the First Lady to wear a US designer for the event - Michelle Obama's most loved designers included Theallet and Jason Wu - Mrs Trump has shown she's partial towards overseas designers, for example, Serbian-born Roksanda Ilincic.

After the New Year's photographs came out, Stefano Gabbana observed Mrs Trump's outfit via Social networking media reports, SMH.

On Thursday, Saks Fifth Avenue was indicating one US size 12 for $US2995 ($4110), while international fashion e-commerce site Farfetch had limited stock for $4400. Like other celebrities and first ladies, Mrs Trump's fashion decisions frequently sell out within days or hours of her wearing them.

The white, bell-sleeve Roksanda dress she wore at the Republican Convention was gobbled up promptly after pictures of Mrs Trump in the dress circumvented the world.

Since the election, a few fashion magazines have said they will downsize their scope of the first lady as a protest against Mr Trump's reputation on issues ranging from women to homosexuality.

Regardless of their oppositional views, it was accounted for this week that Hillary Clinton will go to the inaugration, to be held in Washington on January 20, US time.
