‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Recap, Episode 9 Spoilers Reveal Miss Mystic Falls Pageant

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Episode 9 spoilers reveal that the highly-anticipated Miss Mystic Falls pageant will finally take place. The Salvatore brothers return to their town, but will they be the only ones making a comeback to Mystic Falls? Fans are hoping that Nina Nobrev will finally make her appearance as Elena Gilbert.

In an interview with TV Line, the show's producers promised one character's painful and terrible death. Will viewers see it in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Episode 9? But before the spoilers, here's a recap of last week's episode.

In "The Vampire Diairies" Season 8 Episode 8, "We Have History Together", Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) go on another murder rampage. Stefan has turned into the Ripper, while Damon tries desperately to stamp out his human emotions.

The brothers spot Dr. Tara Robinson (Alexandra Chando) whose kindness reminds them of Elena Gilbert (Nina Nobrev). The brothers make a bet to see whether they could bring out Tara's evil from within.

When he learns that Tara's parents were killed in a hit-and-run by a drunk driver, Stefan convinces her that Damon was the killer. In an effort to prove to Stefan that his humanity switch was really "off", Damon throws away Elena's necklace and kills Tara.

In the end, though, he goes back for the necklace. This is going to have an impact on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Episode 9 episode, where the Miss Mystic Falls pageants will keep reminding Damon of Elena.

Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King) learns that Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) is alive and is working as a teacher. Sybil threatens on kill her students of Caroline doesn't help her find the Charter Bell, a historical artifact.

In "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Episode 9, "The Simple Intimacy of the Near Touch", the brothers will go back to Mystic Falls to help look for the bell. According to CarterMatt, avid fans will get to see many familiar faces showing up to attend the pageant.

The pageant has been a long-time tradition in the show. It would have also featured a dance between Elena and Damon.
