Rumored Xiaomi Mi 6: Specs, Variants, Price

Co-founder and Vice President of Xiaomi, Li Wanqiang has announced more details for their upcoming smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6.

According to Nashville Chatter, VP Li Wanqiang revealed the information at the Geek Park Innovation event. Although he didn't really actually mention the name of their new device, it can be easily guessed that he was talking about the Xiaomi Mi 6.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Specs

It is rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will have a metallic body. The Mi 6 will also have the same Underglass Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as the previous Xiaomi 5S, and will feature a USB Type-C port. The Mi 6's is also rumored to sport a 16-megapixel camera that will shoot 4K video dual LED flash. The Mi 6's camera will also see an upgrade and its sensor will be an enhancement on the Sony IMX378.

Mi 6 Variants

The Mi 6 will have two versions - one with flat and the other with a curved screen, according to Gizmo China. The flat screen variant will feature a regular LCD screen while the curved variant will feature an OLED display, much like Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge.

Online leaks also suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 6's processor will feature Qualcomm's newest chip, the Snapdragon 835. The flat screen variant of the Mi 6 will have 4GB of RAM and the curved OLED display will feature 6GB of RAM. Both versions of the Mi 6 will feature 3,000 mAh batteries and will have the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS. There are also two storage options for the Mi 6, 128 GB and 256 GB.

There is also the Xiaomi Mi 6E that is rumored to come with MediaTek Helio SoC chip of with the Samsung's Exynos chipset.

Pricing

The Mi 6's flat screen variant is expected to cost around 1,999 Yuan ($290) and the curved OLED variant is expected to cost around 2,499 Yuan ($360).
