In the finale episode of Stranger Things Season 1, we found out that Will Byers might not be completely safe from the monster of The Upside Down as he threw up a slug without he even noticed it. The final moment of season 1 might indicate the next dark thing that's going to happen in the upcoming installment.

With the disappearance of Eleven and Will Byers coughing up a slug, "Stranger Things" Season 2 is expected to have much darker and jaw-dropping plot that will leave viewers craving for some more. The director and executive producer of "Stranger Things", Shawn Levy, has confirmed that season 2 is indeed going to be much darker and bigger. The threat that Will Byers encountered has grown and potentially will lead to another danger for the characters. Whether Will Byers is going to be the next antagonist of the show that indicates a much "bigger" and "darker" plot, it's still unclear.

However, the show has promised that Will Byers will appear more and he even will have a bigger role. Noah Schnapp, the actor who plays the role of Will Byers, happily spilled a little chunk of the bean for the upcoming plot: "In the latest episode, I threw up a slug, so Season 2 will begin with what happens from there." When the actor was asked what the consequence behind his slug cough is, he added: "I may or may not have turned into a monster. You will have to watch to find out."

"Stranger Things" Season 1 took place in November 1983. Meanwhile, from the first trailer, we might have known that Season 2 will set a year forward, "In The Fall of 1984", instead of picking up right where the finale episode left off.

Stranger Things Season 2 will also feature several new names to add more excitement. Sean Austin ("The Goonies"), Paul Reiser ("Whiplash"), and Brett Gelman ("30 Minutes or Less") have joined the rest of the group to spice up the story. The new season of Netflix's "Stranger Things" will kick off sometime in the summer, presumably this July.
