AMD GPUs 2017: AMD Ryzen, AMD Vega To Launch Around March 3

The AMD Ryzen release date has been revealed by the Game Developer Conference 2017 schedule. According to the GDC schedule, Ryzen will be out by March 3.

A description of an AMD talk on Ryzen CPU optimisations listed on the website tells would be attendees to "join AMD Game Engineering team members for an introduction to the recently-launched AMD Ryzen CPU".

GDC 2017 is going to run from February 27 to March 3. This would put Ryzen's outermost release date being March 3.

Late last year, AMD has unveiled Ryzen as its new high-end desktop CPU line. At that time, the company has stated that it would be available from Q1 2017 with AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su claiming that Ryzen would give it "best product stack we've had in a decade". No surprise with Vega, FreeSync 2 and Ryzen slated for 2017 release, NDTV reported.

However, we know that its new Vega GPUs, set to take on the high-end graphics card market and can run Doom"" in 4K at its highest settings at a stable 70+fps.

So now main question is, why should buyers wait even longer, putting off PC builds they so dearly want to start? At CES 2017 Trusted Reviews has thrown this question to Jim Anderson, AMD's senior vice president and general manager of the computing and graphics business group.

He said, "I think what the consumer will see when we fully launch is that the amount of performance we're bringing per dollar is phenomenal. It's user experience per dollar. That's why I'd say I'd wait."

Based on the new AMD AM4 platform, Ryzen desktop CPUs will be having 8 cores (16 threads) clocked at 3.4GHz+ and 4MB of L2 cache as well as 16MB of L3 cache. Details on the AM4 platform are limited except for the fact that it supports DDR4, PCIe Gen. 3, USB 3.1 Gen. 2, NVMe, and SATA Express technologies.
