‘Shameless’ Season 8 News: Frank Meltdown Continues & Emmy Rossum Payment Issues Solved

Showtime network has announced the return of 'Shameless' season eight on Monday. The dysfunctional Gallagher family will be associated with bigger issues related to an inheritance at the upcoming season, says show's exec at the TCA Winter Press Tour.

The season eight theme still undefined, since the renewal was confirmed last month. For this season, the show producers teased fans saying, Frank's (William H. Macy) destiny looks blurry. The father of six will keep living his life the way he wants to, confronting her wife and kids like on past seasons, relates Fabnewz about the show.

Season seven had a dramatic ending, when Frank found drugs hidden at his ex-wife Monica (Annabella Apsion) house. She kept it like an inheritance for her children. Frank decided to sell a part of the drugs, leaving the kids once again.

After this, Monica's father showed up at Frank's house to revenge his daughter. Monica's father believes that Frank's is the responsible for her daughter substance abuse, not knowing she has a terminal disease, relates the same source.

The network executives order to renegotiate current cast salary terms. Showtime president David Nevins explained at the TCA Winter Press Tour quoting his words, "To be clear, parity was justified in this case". The case was reported by Emmy Rossum, when she talked about seeking parity salary or equal pay referring to William Macey.

Emmy Rossum plays the eldest Gallagher daughter, and ahead of season eight renewal, she needed to renegotiate past season salary. The actress alleged earning less than Macey (Frank Gallagher).  About this Nevins said, "We were advocating for that from the beginning. It is great for her and great for us. Emmy has been a force on that show. Not just in front, but behind the cameras. She'll continue to direct.".

Five days later of this report, Emmy signed a deal and publically announced, "I'm so happy to continue [with] my Shameless family!, Back to work in May!", relates TV Line.

After a significant raise, William H. Macy's contract was updated with a higher salary compared to the rest of his cast members.

'Shameless' season eight will be aired in fall, 2017.
