During E3 2016, Bethesda revealed Arkane's "Prey" and explained that it is not a sequel to the 2006 game of the same title. Now, Bethesda Softworks just dropped a gameplay trailer, along with its release date coming early this May.

The gameplay trailer showed the space station Talos I and a little bit more of the game's story. Polygon reports that Morgan Yu, the main hero of "Prey", is the VP and director of research for TranStar Corporation. Players can also choose whether Morgan is male or female.

Set in 2032, the game starts with the player, Morgan Yu, waking up onboard space station Talos I that is orbiting the moon. Morgan is the key subject of an experiment that dreams to change humanity forever. Then things go horribly wrong. Talos I has been flooded by hostile aliens and Morgan is being hunted. As the player digs into the space station's deepest, darkest secrets and Morgan's own past, the player must then survive using the tools found on the station, the player's brains, weapons, and mind-boggling abilities.

The game mainly takes place indoors, but Bethesda claims the entire space station Talos I will be open for exploration - that includes zero-gravity gameplay outside the actual station. Talos I kind of reminds players of the BioShock series with its art-laden lobby.

Originally, "Prey" was introduced by its previous developer Human Head as "Prey 2", the sequel to the 2006 game "Prey" five years ago. Then, it was cancelled two years ago until Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Studios picked it up and made the game from scratch, not utilizing any progress Human Head had made for the past years, and completely "reimagining" the game, Tech Advisor reports.

Currently, "Prey" is now available for pre-order at Amazon for £48 (around $60) for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or $49.99 (around $65) for the PC platform.

"Prey" by Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Studios will be available on May 5, 2017 worldwide.
