"Rick and Morty" Season 3 is one of the shows that fans are eagerly waiting to return to the small screens. According to the show's co-creator Dan Harmon, their fighting and slow writing are to blame for the continuous delay of the popular animated sci-fi TV series.

"Rick and Morty" Season 3 should have premiered last December. Unfortunately, to the disappointment of many the animated series remains in the works and still has no air date.

Dan Harmon takes responsibility regarding the delay of the show. He admitted that he and Justin Roiland struggle to agree in mapping out the show.

He added that it is taking longer to write the script and he can't understand why. To make the matter worse, the two creators' creative struggle leads to fighting.

"We have fights all the time and then we have fights about why we're having fights," Harmon told Indiewire. "Well, we didn't fight during Season 2, that's why it's taking longer! All this fighting! So OK, let's stop fighting!"

It has been over three months since "Rick and Morty" aired an original episode but the wait continues. An AdultSwim spokesperson confirmed that the TV series has no premiere date yet as they are still "deep in production."

Well, the wait delay shouldn't be a surprise. According to CinemaBlend, the last season of "Rick and Morty" featured a new character named Mr. Pooybutthole who hinted that the next run of the show will premiere in a year and a half after the said finale.

That's why many were surprised when the production teased that the new season will premiere before 2016 ends. It turns out that it was another wrong information.

However, the publication also hints that "Rick and Morty's" Mr. Poopybutthole has developed a substance abuse after Beth Smith shot him in the stomach. Thus, he is not the most sensible source.

What do you think of Dan Harmon's reason about the delay of "Rick and Morty" Season 3? Are the creatures pressured due to the success of their animated TV series? Will it take a year and a half before the new season premieres? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
