Samsung is about to drop its newest flagship, Samsung Galaxy S8, this year and it's apparently one of the most anticipated high-end smartphones of 2017. After a lot of troubles that Samsung had to face due to the explosive battery issues, the South Korean-based company will once again show its claws to start a new battle with its lifetime nemesis, Apple, which is rumored to release its iPhone 8 this year.

Fans can't help but wonder if Samsung Galaxy S8 will be crowned as the world's finest smartphone of the year given the leaked specifications that reveal its fantastic features. Now, let's see what Samsung Galaxy S8 has in store to make it deserves to win a battle against iPhone 8.

Some people might have been annoyed by Apple's decision to remove the audio jack and being forced to spend an extra $160 for the fancy wireless AirPods. Fortunately, SamsungGalaxy S8 will likely not to adapt that brave decision and still stick to retain its traditional precious port.

According to The Guardian, Samsung Galaxy S8 will have two models in which will feature "infinity display", a bezel-less display that stretches edge to edge. This "infinity display" will most likely drop the Samsung logo on the top front, and move the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone like what they did to Google's Pixel. New AMOLED technology will also helm the phone's display, which is a feature that will likely to only be available in the premium version of iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a new fabrication method that will enable energy efficiency by 20% and faster performance. This is good news for iPhone users who have to deal with the battery issues. It's also reported that the S8 series will feature Snapdragon 835 chip that's mainly found in advanced smartphone features like augmented virtual reality. However, this Snapdragon 835 chip will help to provide a full five hours of battery in just five-minute charging.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will be designed to easily connect to monitor via HDMI adapter and will essentially transform the phone into a desktop mode. This feature was introduced previously by Windows smartphones, which can be set to run as a desktop with Microsoft's Continuum feature. However, iPhone hasn't seemed to adopt this feature.

The Samsung Galaxy S8's front camera will improve significantly from 5 MP to 8 MP. It's also expected that S8 will have iris scanner to enhance the security system. It's also said that the iris scanner will soon be integrated with more functions on Samsung phones, such as mobile payment authentication.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to release ahead of iPhone 8. The next Samsung's flagship will be available worldwide on April 21.
