Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Google Pixel XL are currently the hottest smartphones in the market. Samsung's device was launched around nine months back but the Pixel XL is newer launched only three months ago. Both phones feature high-end processors and deliver exceptional performance but there are huge differences in usability and user experience.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a flagship device from the Taiwanese manufacturer featuring 5.5-inch 1440p Super AMOLED curved display. The handset is an all-rounder with a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM and 3600mAh battery. The phone is one of the bestselling smartphones manufactured by Samsung. Galaxy S7 Edge has a 12MP camera with a f/1.7 aperture which performs exceptionally well in low light conditions. The front camera is a 5MP shooter with 1/4.1" sensor and has auto HDR.

The phone comes with IP68 certification making it dust proof and water resistant. The phone has one of a kind Always-ON display for notifications and has Gorilla Glass 4 on front and back. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge also has wireless charging and is Quick Charge 2.0 compatible. The phone also has dual-SIM functionality and supports micro-SD card slot for storage expansion as reported by The Verge.

Google Pixel XL

Google Pixel XL is the first smartphone after the company's now dead Nexus line of devices. The Pixel XL features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1440p resolution. It is a single SIM device with 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 821 SoC. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 and the phone is IP53 certified making it splash and dust resistant.

The phone has a 12MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture and laser auto focus. The front camera is an 8MP shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The phone has a 3450mAh battery and supports fast charging. Google Pixel XL has a USB 3.0 Type-C connector and ships with Android 7.1 reports GSMArena.

Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge is a feature rich smartphone unlike the Google Pixel XL's simplicity in the software department. The Pixel XL, however, is a more fluid smartphone but lacks some of the features like wireless charging, Always-ON display, dual-SIM functionality and expandable storage. The cameras on both devices are similar - Pixel XL scores 89 points on DxOmark ratings and Galaxy S7 Edge 88.
