Production for "Avengers: Infinity War" will soon begin this month. Although details about the project remain a big secret for now, there are a lot of rumblings and theories as to what would happen in one of the biggest superhero movie events in the history.

Betty Ross reappears as Bruce Banner's love interest

At the time it was confirmed that "Avengers: Infinity War" would begin filming in Scotland this February, news outlet The Record wrote that Liv Tyler is one of the many stars that have reportedly been lined up for parts in the upcoming film.

Tyler was never a part of the previous "Avengers" movies, but she did appear in the 2008 movie "The Hulk" as Betty Ross, love interest to Edward Norton's Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Neither Tyler's reps nor Marvel confirmed the actress' involvement in the movie, but it is presumed that "The Lord of the Rings" actress would reprise her 2008 role.

"Avengers: Infinity War" marks a new chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe

As previously reported, the MCU entered its Phase III with the 2016 film "Doctor Strange." Prior to "Infinity War," more films will be released to rev up Phase III. Anthony Russo revealed in an interview with IGN that the upcoming superhero ensemble movie will be a culmination of everything that has happened in the MCU so far.

"I can't get into too much detail about who we're introducing, but these two movies are intended to be the culmination of everything that has happened in the MCU since the very first Iron Man movie," Russo said. "In being a culmination, these movies are in some ways going to be an end to certain things, and in some ways, they're going to be the beginning of certain things."

There are rumblings that there are going to be major changes as the MCU moves forward with new characters and newer dilemmas. Case in point: it's possible that Steve Rogers would no longer take on the Captain America handle in the future films.

New superheroes introduced

A lot of newer Marvel superheroes and villains will be introduced in "Avengers: Infinity War." So far, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man have been confirmed to join the gang. Brie Larson is also expected to make her debut as Captain Marvel.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is expected to hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
