‘Vikings’ Season 5 Spoilers: Lagertha To Die Next; EP Hints Show May End After Six Seasons

The finale of "Vikings" Season 4 recently aired, which showed the death of several characters. However, even though the drama was able continue with the demise of one of the major characters, it seems more characters will die in the upcoming season. It looks like Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will die next.

"Vikings" Season 5 spoilers reveal the possibility that Lagertha may be the next character to die. In a recent interview with Alex Høgh Andersen, the actor gave a hint that his character, Ivar, will be bent on getting revenge on Lagertha over the death of his mother.

He told ET that she is the one woman who ever loved him, and so he will never be able to settle down knowing that Lagertha is breathing free air. His remarks have made fans of the show to the speculation that Lagertha may end up dead in the hands of Ivar in "Vikings" Season 5. As seen in the Season 4 finale, several characters died, including Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), King Ecbert (Linus Roache) and Sigurd (David Lindström).

Andersen also teased the possibility of romance for Ivar in the upcoming Season, as he described his character as determined, still angry, violent, but also in love. However, the series creator, Michael Hirst revealed in an interview with Variety that Ivar's actions in the season finale will be followed by tragic consequences.

Hirst explained that Ivar was the one who murdered his brother, Sigurd, and even though he said he did not mean the consequence of his act, it will cause the brothers to split into different teams in the upcoming Season. It also looks like Ragnar's sons will also have to face some issues about their lands, as Ecbert was not the King of Wessex when he signed the deed.

Hirst also revealed the show's possible endgame. He stated that although the History Channel series has received good ratings and reviews, they can go for two more seasons and fans should look forward to amazing scenes in "Vikings" Season 5.
