'Clash of Clans' Are Preferred By Men While Women Pick 'Candy Crush Saga': Study

Supercell's "Clash of Clans" and King's "Candy Crush" are among the most popular mobile game for years. A new study suggests that men prefer "CoC" while women go for the "Candy Crush Saga."

A new study examined the purchase preferences by gender to see which games they prefer to spend on. The project involved 776 million purchased in the Apple App Store that sums up to $4.6 billion in revenue, Segment Next reported.

Of all the games available on the market the top five games which people spend most of their money include "Clash of Clans," "Candy Crush Saga," "Game of War," "Boom Beach" and "Hay Day." However, "CoC" dominates the market. But aside from that facts, Supercell is the big winner because three of the games on the list above belong to them.

The researchers learned that 70 percent of the money spent on "Clash of Clans" are from men. Meanwhile, 70 percent of the money from "Candy Crush Saga" are from women. On the other hand, both genders spent more on "CoC" with "Candy Crush" on the second place.

Both genders spent $365 million for "Clash of Clans" and $168 million for "Candy Crush Saga." Meanwhile, Machine Zone's "Game of War" is in the third spot with $159.8 million.
