Selena Gomez recently started dating the rapper The Weeknd, which is not taken nicely by her mom. Her mother never seemed this desperate to bring her daughter out from a relationship when she was dating Justin Bieber.

According to The Sun, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd were spotted kissing in Santa Monica, recently. Reports suggest, Gomez's mother Mandy Teefey is trying hard to keep her daughter away from her now boyfriend, The Weeknd. A source close to the family heard Mandy shouting at her daughter to ditch the alcohol and drugs. But why such desperation by a mother was hard to tell.

Teefey was in her daughter's management team but was fired later on as she had her motherly instincts when it came for Selena's work. She even tried to book Selena Gomez's studio time in Texas but Selena stayed home in L.A and relapsed due to her drug abuse reported, Newsdump.

Selena Gomez recently hired a life coach to battle her depression. She was doing fine until she met her recent rapper boyfriend. Her mother is tensed due to that. Selena thinks that the new guy in her daughter's life is not a good influence to fight against the drug abuse.

Selena Gomez who had been continuously lying about the fact of using drugs has confessed that it was all about her past. And it has nothing to do with her present. This scenario came out when she hooked up with The Weeknd and her mother came out in full public of blasting her boyfriend.

Even though Selena Gomez said that it is all about her past, her mother still thinks that she will not come out of the scenario with her partner being a 'druggie' as well and for them, the temptation to hit the clubs is too much to turn it down.
