Katy Perry has been busy in the past week in teasing her fans for her first released single from her upcoming album. Perry chose to drop hints and teaser while walking in silver stilettos with a disco ball chained to her ankle and various clips from the recording studio. After the long torture of waiting, Katy Perry finally has dropped the first song from her forthcoming new album.

At first the teaser, due to its reggae/dance hybrid sound, kind of hinted that it will feature Bob Marley's grandson Skip Marley, who reportedly just signed to Island Records and released his own track "Lions" last Friday. The rumor was further supported when Perry even took to Twitter to comment on Skip's new song, calling him "the voice of our REVOLUTION," according to Billboard.

The said single, titled as "Chained to the Rhythm," was released, accompanied by a lyric video of a batch of miniature meals being made inside a tiny kitchen - which turns out to be for an adorable little hamster. Perry tweeted last night that her song, "Chained To The Rhythm" reflects the start of her "purposeful pop" era, which can mean that her fourth album will be centered and contain themes around political and social change. Meanwhile, speaking of Katy Perry, the Recording Academy revealed last Monday that the singer will be performing at the Grammys. After the announcement, that is when Perry started to tease that "Chained to the Rhythm" will be released on Friday.

Consequently, many believe that Perry will perform her new single for the first time at the 59th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, as reported by Metro. Meanwhile, other artists confirmed to perform at the music event are The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Bruno Mars and much more.
