Warner Bros. has just released a new trailer for "Lego Ninjago Movie". In it, the main hero Lloyd and his team of ninjas face off against Lord Garmadon, who interestingly is his father.

The two-and-a-half minute teaser for "Lego Ninjago Movie" brought in plenty of laughs and, as usual, pokes fun at some tropes in the genre. It plays on the father-son dilemma even further, with James Franco's Lloyd blaming his father for destroying his life, while Garmadon, voiced by Justin Theroux, claims to not be part of his life to begin with.

The "Lego Ninjago Movie" trailer also shows the Ninjago team coming together. Assembled by Sensei Wu, voiced by Jackie Chan, he asks the yellow-headed ninjas if they are ready to protect Ninjago City. As Entertainment Weekly reported, while most are ready to go, a voice in the background is having cold feet.

Working with the same quirkiness as 2014's hit "The Lego Movie", "Lego Ninjago Movie" is the second spinoff for the movie, the first being "Lego Batman Movie". It is also the feature film directorial debut of Charlie Bean, with Hilary Winston, Bob Logan and Paul Fisher as scribes, according to Variety.

"Lego Ninjago Movie" brings to life the Lego line that started in 2011.  Based on the previous Ninja theme used by Lego, "Ninjago" further enhances it by adding a new plot, new characters and dragons. Technology was added to the mix as well, with futuristic vehicles like motorcycles and helicopters included to the sets.

Prior to starring in their own feature film, Lloyd and the rest of the "Lego Ninjago Movie" team were brought to life through a TV series. As the initial release of the toy line included a two-episode pilot, the Ninjago TV series already has six seasons as of 2016. "Lego Ninjago Movie" assembles in September 2017.
