'The Seven Deadly Sins' Anime To Arrive In Home Video For US, Canada; Netflix Teases Season 2

"The Seven Deadly Sins" anime is coming to home video in the North America via FUNimation Entertainment. Meanwhile, the anime's second season is on its way for North American audience. It will be available for streaming in Netflix later this year in English dub.

The Funimation studio acquired the license for the first season of the action fantasy "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime to be shown to American and Canadian TV fans. "The Seven Deadly Sins" (Nanatsu no Taizai) is a story about Princess Elizabeth who must gather the Seven Deadly Sins in order to free her father and rid the kingdom of the power-hungry Holy Knights. The Sins were legendary heroes that had become fugitives.

While trying to gather the Sins, she meets Meliodas, the captain of the Sins. Their journey takes them all over the kingdom and other countries, while battling other creatures and the Holy Knights. The story and characters evolve, with secrets being revealed and heroes powering up in every leg of the journey in "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime.

The shonen anime was a hit among fans of the genre. "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime Season 1 was released in October 2014 in Japan. It was later streamed in Netflix last year. Anime News Network reports that Funimation will be releasing it on home video for the United States and Canada later this year, although no release date has been revealed.

"The Seven Deadly Sins" manga started in October 2012 in the Weekly Shonen Magazine. It has sold more than 10 million volumes around the world. It was adapted into "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime in 2014 by A-1 Pictures. According to Comicbook, Netflix acquired the rights to stream the English-dubbed episodes.

Now, fans will be pleased to know that Netflix will release "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime Season 2 later this year. There's still no air date, but Netflix has already revealed "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 trailer on its official website. It currently has 24 volumes. The next one will be out in March 2017.
