Jason Derulo walked down the 2017 Grammy Awards red carpet and talked about his new collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. The new single, "Swalla," will explore Derulo's Caribbean background. Meanwhile, the singer also opened up about the incident he had with American Airlines during a recent trip.

During the 2017 Grammy Awards red carpet walk, Billboard caught up with Jason Derulo to talk about his new songs. The 27-year-old "Wiggle" singer revealed that he was doing a collaboration project with singers Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign on a new single, "Swalla".

On why he chose to work with the two rappers, he said, "You know, I'm a fan of both of theirs and I thought that they fit the track perfectly." Jason Derulo also hinted that the new song will be unlike anything his fans have heard. He said he was excited to incorporate his Caribbean background into the "Swalla" music video for the first time.

In the same interview, Jason Derulo also opened up about his altercation with American Airlines. Last week, the "In My Head" singer posted on Instagram an accusation against American Airlines at Miami Airport on Feb. 8. According to Entertainment Tonight, the AA crew claimed that he and his entourage smelled of marijuana and were acting aggressively.

Derulo also reportedly wanted to bring in 19 pieces of luggage free of charge. He was told that he would have to pay $4,000 for the baggage fees. The police were called to remove Jason Derulo and his group from the plane. They were then rescheduled for a later flight. The music artist said that AA eventually apologized to him, but he still refuted the claims that he tried to check in 19 bags.

He also said that the airlines should have apologized publicly and clarified what really went on that day. In 2015, Jason Derulo had another unfortunate run-in at the airport. He was actually booted off a flight after getting into a fight with TSA agents.
