Chance the Rapper had social media abuzz when he won three trophies at the 2017 Grammys. That night, he did not just win, he also made history as the first artist to not sell any physical copies of his music. But aside from those things, people are curious about his signature "3" cap and the meaning behind it.

Sure, his style has caught the eye of many fashionistas. He is able to wear slightly questionable clothing and rock them without a sweat. The highlight of the look of Chance the Rapper, though, is the ever-present "3" cap. Part of the answer lies in his love for baseball. The 23-year-old has never been shy about talking about the sport. He even told one magazine that he wore them all the time when he was still in high school, PopSugar shared.

As for the number "3", choosing it was natural for Chance the Rapper. It stands for three things: the third mixtape; his family composed of himself, his girl, and his daughter; and lastly the Holy Trinity. Yes, the rapper is not shy about declaring his faith.

And though his cap stands for something personal for Chance the Rapper, it has become all the rage among fans and fashionable people. For those who wanted to grab one for themselves, they are now able to purchase it online. The artist's official website offers it for sale on the shop.

Vibe wrote that Chance the Rapper first broke into the music scene with "10 Day" and "Acid Rap". His third project is "Coloring Book", which makes part of the trinity of his cap. He also revealed that his third album's name used to be longer: "The Magnificent Coloring Book". But the name did not fit well into his cap and so he removed the first two words to come up with a thought-provoking album title.
