NetherRealm's "Injustice 2" beta was revealed to be closing next week. This means that fans only have a few more days left to make the most of the trial stage of the game. Everyone who has been enjoying the multiplayer beta should now get ready to leave it behind for now. Ed Boon, who serves as creative director for NetherRealm, tweeted last Saturday they will pull the plug on Feb. 21.

So all players who have been enjoying "Injustice 2" beta have to get ready to close that door for now. The game's creators previously announced that this stage would last for about a month. However, it looks like they have mined all the data they needed to upgrade the game.

Warner Bros. also released a statement. "Thanks to all of our players who took part in the Injustice 2 online beta. We received a great deal of data that will help make the launch of our online modes the best they can be," they said. Furthermore, they added that they will start getting busy on implementing the necessary changes to the game.

Of course, this news is not happy for many fans of "Injustice 2" beta as well as for many others who did not get the chance. WWG reported that those who were not fortunate enough to enjoy the beta will have to wait a long time. The game will be officially released on May 16, 2017. Although fans should also keep their eyes peeled for possibly another close beta or maybe an open one.

Aside from that, players of "Injustice 2" beta also have something to look forward to. That is the announcement of a new playable character for the game on Feb. 23, GameSpot wrote. So far, Swamp Thing, Batman, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Superman, Deadshot, and a host of other well-known DC characters were revealed.

While "Injustice 2" beta was still running last week, Ed Boon revealed that less-known characters will also make it to the actual game. And in a new game trailer, players were treated to other characters such as Catwoman, Black Canary, and Poison Ivy.
