'Fifty Shades Darker' Soundtrack Debuts On Top Spot As Billboard Chart Went Reshuffle

"Fifty Shades Darker" soundtrack succeeded to seize the number 1 spot in Billboard 200 chart. It beats the previous record set by its prequel "Fifty Shades of Grey" soundtrack that grabs the second place on the chart way back Feb. 28, 2015.

As reported by Billboard, a major reshuffling happens with this week's list of Billboard 200 chart. The "Fifty Shades Darker" hit single "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," by Zayn and Taylor Swift garnering the top place. According to Nielsen Music, since the set was released on Feb. 10, the soundtrack of this sequel of "Fifty Shades of Grey" endears 72,000 album sales from 123,000 equivalent album units for a span of one week. It is released by Universal Studios/Republic Records. The soundtrack beats Sean's "I Decided" which falls from top 1 down to top 3 declining to 59 percent producing only 62,000 units.

The "Fifty Shades Darker" album has collaboration of various singers including Tove Lo, Sia, The-Dream, John Legend, and Nick Jonas and Nicki Minaj. This collaboration of big stars has put major contribution that leads this album to its way to top. "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" also peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100. Together with the release in, its soundtrack also reaches the music stores the same day. "Fifty Shades Darker" featured 19 songs including covers and instrumental pieces by Danny Elfman.

According to Forbes, the soundtrack of the first film also received various recognitions. Meanwhile, The Weeknd's "Earned It," and Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do," reaches No. 3 of the Hot 100 earning both the singer-songwriters Grammy and Oscar nominations.

With the movie lead by US actress Dakota Johnson and Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan, The Fifty Shades of Grey movie was admired by tons of people which in return sells several million copies of its album soundtrack around the world. The full soundtrack featured songs and singles by Sia, Jessie Ware, Annie Lennox, and Beyoncé.
