A new "Civilization 6" DLC is in the works that will be unleashed by summer this year. When the new expansion pack arrives, gamers will have another civilization to use in their bid for world domination, as Australia will be making its way to the roster of playable civs for the first time.

While the "Civilization 6" DLC that introduced Poland was just recently released, players of Firaxis and 2K Games' hit strategy title are ready for another challenge. Strategy gamers are always on the lookout for the next challenge to test their tactics. It looks like Firaxis already answered their wise sooner than expected as the developer has recently announced that a new expansion pack is on the way, one that will introduce another playable civ and along with it, a different gameplay to master.

Australia will be making its debut as a playable civ in the franchise when the "Civilization 6" DLC arrives this summer. A post in the game's official site reveal the perks that comes with playing the civ made possible by its unique abilities, units, improvements and leader skill.

John Curtin will join the ranks of esteemed "Civilization 6" leaders as head of the Australian civ. In real life, Curtin was the 14th Prime Minister who served the country from 1941 to 1945 during World War II.

Players choosing Australia will be able to harness Curtin's unique ability called Citadel of Civilization, GamesnAnime reported. Playing as the upcoming "Civilization 6" leader will give gamers strong defensive capabilities as Australia will get a production bonus that could speed up making military units when attacked first.

The upcoming "Civilization 6" DLC will also give players the chance to take advantage of Australia's unique tile improvement called Outback Station. It generates food and production while also giving food bonuses to adjacent pastures.

On the military side, Australia will definitely shine in late game. In lieu of the infantry, the upcoming "Civilization 6" civ will be able to build "Diggers," its unique unit. These are essentially stronger infantry units that could be used both for defense and offense as they get a boost when fighting in coastal tiles as well as when fighting outside Australia's territory.

At the moment, Firaxis has not yet announced an official release date of the expansion pack but has promised that it will be out by summer this year. Aside from introducing the new civ, the upcoming "Civilization 6" DLC will be adding new features such as a Steam Workshop making it easier for players to create customizations. The update will likewise polish the game's AI component, introduce multiplayer mode and various bug fixes.
