Motorola G4 and G4 Plus are one of those handsets that have received Android 7.0 Nougat update earlier than most of the Android smartphones in the market. This is due to the fact that Motorola uses stock Android UI with a very little customization.

The Lenovo owned company pushed Android 7.0 update for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus along with other improvements. The update brings new features, more efficient notifications, improved data saving function and better battery features. The key features include:

Multi Window View feature lets users run two apps side by side on the screen of their Moto G4 Plus. Users can activate multi-window view by long pressing the recent apps button on the Motorola G4 and G4 Plus. Work Mode on the Android Nougat comes with a new "Work Mode" toggle button that allows users to turn on and off the device's work apps and related notifications for conveniently managing work- life balance.

Emergency Information feature lets users add information such as blood type, allergies and an emergency contact so that emergency responders can take necessary action by viewing emergency information on the lock screen of Moto G4 Plus. Users can edit emergency information by opening "Settings," scrolling down to "Users" and then tapping on to "Emergency Information", reported Android Authority

Call Screening/blocking feature with this update allows the phone app to block incoming calls. To set call screening/ blocking, users need to open the default dialer app and tapping on the "Menu" icon on the top right corner, then select "Settings" and then go to "Call Blocking". This feature works well on the Motorola G4 and G4 Plus.

With the Notification Control and Direct Reply feature, the Moto G4 Plus users can now reply directly to messages from the notification with the new update. In addition, users can now toggle the notifications by pressing and holding on a notification. Users can also block or silence the future alerts from an app in the notification only, reported Android Police.

The other significant features in the updated for Moto G4 Plus include One-Handed Mode, New Emojis, Lockscreen Wallpapers and Multi-Locale Language Support. Moto G4 Plus should cautiously install this update with at least 50 percent battery charge. Also, a downgrade to the previous software version is not allowed after installing the Android 7.0 Nougat update.
