The return of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 this coming April is something that fans must keep their eyes peeled for. Because Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), who everyone thought was dead, will be making a comeback!

In the tenth episode of last season, it was revealed that Dalton's character was actually a HYDRA agent. He tried to kill Coulson but the latter was able to kill him using his prosthetic hand, Deadline wrote. Everyone thought that was the end of him, but the latest episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 showed otherwise.

"Self Control" was the finale of the LMD arc. This episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 was written and directed by Jed Whedon (his debut). In it, Daisy (Chloe Bennett) and Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) forced their way into the Framework created by Aida. They worked together to get to their avatars and to wake up Coulson and the others. While all this was happening, there was no indication yet of Grant Ward miraculously materializing.

When the two ladies managed to get a hold of their avatars, they were transported to another reality. Daisy found herself in her bath tub where she receives a text message. It told her to go to work with her supposed boyfriend, TVLine shared. But this particular boyfriend was not Lincoln. Instead, it was Grant Ward who died last season! Fans were treated to this reveal when Daisy got up from her tub and walked into her room. When she did that, Whedon worked in a shot of a picture frame containing Ward's photo. Furthermore, aside from his reappearance, there was another shocker in the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 episode. Jemma was not above ground, she was below ground.

TVLine spoke with the writer/director Jed Whedon about the upcoming events in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4. He said that was not yet the end of Elizabeth Henstridge's character. He also hinted that she would possibly appear in that alternate reality elsewhere. As for Brett Dalton being absent, Whedon explained that it was a matter of scheduling conflict.
