Apple removed the headphone jack from its iPhone 7 series deliberately and to make up for it, the company announced Apple AirPods for listening to music wirelessly. Apple also bought Beats, a brand owned by Dr. Dre in 2014. The company has now announced its new Beats X headphones.

Apple announced Beats X wireless earbuds in September last year and Apple's Phil Schiller describes Beats X as "an affordable, light, comfortable headphone for all throughout your day." Apple's Beats X are connected by rubber cable that contains a battery, a remote for changing the volume and activating Siri. This cable sits at the back of the user's neck.

Beats X feature Apple's WI technology that replaces the Bluetooth connection and is extremely easy to use. In iOS, the user just needs to hold the "On" button and the screen pop up appears asking to connect to the Beats X. However, in Android these earbuds pair like a normal Bluetooth device.

Apple Beats X have a claimed battery life of eight hours and around 30 meters range. These earbuds have a Lightning port for charging and it takes nearly 45 minutes to charge the whole thing. Beats X deliver up to two hours of music playback in just five minutes of charging.

The Beats X come with four different sizes of ear tips and they provide almost perfect fit for different sizes of ears, reported The Telegraph. When removed from the ears, Beats X connect magnetically to each other preventing any tangling which is very common for earphones. The Beats X doesn't live up to the hype in sound quality.

Beats X have a plenty of volume but the base doesn't live up to the standards of Beats headphone or earphones. The sound stage of the headphones is average and they lack clarity and dynamism. Thus the sound quality is the biggest weakness of these earbuds and is probably the only thing that may let users down about these earbuds, reported TheVerge.

Apple Beats X have a long lasting battery and connect flawlessly with the smartphones. They are much comfortable than the Apple AirPods, however, the sound quality is the let down for the price. Beats X are priced at $150 and come with a carrying case and charging cable.
