Anthology series "American Horror Story" might tap a newcomer for the role of Monica Lewinsky. The series has since been renewed for a seventh and eight season after the conclusion of "Roanoke."

Murphy said the series will delve at the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal, based on a book by Jeffrey Toobin who is also the same writer of the source material for  "People v. O.J. Simpson." He went to say that they will look for a relatively unknown actress to pay Lewinsky, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

"Yes, I think we'll go after a newcomer to play Monica because that's the part. I'm interested in seeing a young, new person go through that brutality as Monica did," he said.

Another character they will be casting for is Hillary Clinton. However, Murphy admitted that they have yet to find the right actress for the role. On the other hand, he revealed that Emmy award-winning actress Sarah Paulson may play Lewinsky's confidant Linda Tripp.

"We'll see if she would agree to do that," he said.

The script for the next season is currently underway. Murphy clarified that the upcoming season will merely borrow inspiration from the past event and said that the Clintons do not need to be a huge part of the narrative. He said they would likely make it about the "birth of a specific movement" in the country.

Murphy further confirmed that the new season of "American Horror Story"  will also pull from the events of the 2016 elections, Los Angeles Times reported. To this, host Andy Cohen said that there is a possibility of having a character based on President-elect Donald Trump.

"American Horror Story" Season 7 will begin its filming in June.
