"X-Men" franchise actor Patrick Stewart said that he is not yet ready to leave the series anytime soon.

In an interview, Stewart revealed that the upcoming film "Logan" may be the end of an era for Hugh Jackman, the same is not true in his case. This is contrary to what he said in the past years where he said that that "Logan" will probably the end for him too as Professor Charles Xavier, ET reported.

"Hugh has raised the flag that says goodbye. I haven't done that yet.," he said.

In the said interview, Stewart also went to reflect on how Jackman evolved as an actor throughout the 17 years since the first "X-Men" film has been released. He went to say that Jackman's likeability, charm, and modesty has never changed.

"What has changed is the actor. His work throughout the franchise is compelling and powerful and witty and very entertaining, and I believe what he does in Logan is quite extraordinary. The aging, the sadness, the weariness, the borderline despair he exhibits coupled with that edge that has always been there is quite remarkable," he said.

He also sang praises for the 12-year-old co-star Dafne Keen whom he defined as a "phenomenon." Critics say that the actress will likely take over after Wolverine's retirement on the big screen.

Meanwhile, reports have confirmed that "X-Men: Supernova" is the next ensemble film on the pipeline, Screen Rant reported. The film will presumably center on the Dark Phoenix saga that will likely feature Professor X and the rest of the X-Men members. Therefore, the probability that Stewart will make an appearance is very high.

On the other hand, news about Jackman's continued appearance in the succeeding "X-men" films has not been confirmed.

"Logan" will be ripe for theatrical release on March 3, 2017.
