Ipad Pros are beasty tablets, with great specs and decent design to boot. But with Microsoft's Surface Pro sitting in front of the hype train right now, Apple must pull something big in its sleeves to compete. And exploring its edge in the game, Apple might release a rather iconic "budget friendly" iPad Pro.

According to Trusted Reviews, Apple will release three models for the new iPad Pro 2. Two models will be aimed for high-end models while the other iPad Pro will be the stripped down version of iPad Pro 2. The stripped down version of the iPad Pro 2 will be priced at $299 and will have a 9.7-inch display.

There will be a 10.5-inch version and when that version will be released, it will be the first time that a 10.5 inch version will be different from Apple's usual range. It is said that the bezel will be removed, extending up the screen size to where the bezels used to be. In effect, the former 2048 x 1536 will be replaced by 2,224 x 1,668 to maintain the current pixels per inch.

According to MacWorld, the Apple iPad Pro will be released this month alongside Apple Pencil 2. After its focus on iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2 last year, this might be the time that Apple will be upping its competition against Microsoft. Usually, Apple holds an event in the first quarter of every year, but this year Apple is said to hold two events.

It is rumored that the 9.7 inch iPad is expected to be launched at the earlier event, which will be in March. While the iPad Pro 2 and the 10.5 inch iPad won't be released until May or June. This would be a tricky decision for Apple. Unlike its iPhone products, the fans of iPads rarely replace their device for the updated one. Two updates will feel redundant.
