‘Star Wars’ Spin-Off ‘Han Solo’ In Talks With Michael K. Williams

Michael K. Williams is already in the last stages of negotiations for his upcoming role in the next movie for the "Star Wars" franchise. However, no details have been revealed regarding his character in the "Han Solo" spin-off.

Variety reported that Michael K. Williams, well-known for his role as Omar Little on HBO's "The Rise" could be joining Alden Ehrenreich soon. However, it is not yet known what the 50-year-old acting veteran's role will be in the still untitled "Han Solo" movie. Ehrenreich, though, has already been revealed to wear the titular character's boots.

If Michael K. Williams does agree to join the "Han Solo," he will be working alongside a list of high-caliber actors. "Westworld" star Thandie Newton and "Game of Thrones" actress Emilia Clarke have also been confirmed to feature in the Disney-Lucasfilm production. Other actors that have signed up for roles in the upcoming film are Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson and Donald Glover. Among the aforementioned, only Glover's character is known. The 33-year-old will be portraying Lando Calrissian, according to IGN, but Waller-Bridge should be playing a key CGI character.

The "Han Solo" movie Michael K. Williams will be starring in already has a screening date. "Star Wars" fans should look forward to it on May 25, 2018. Aside from the title, neither Disney nor Lucasfilm have talked about the spin-off's plot. All that everyone knows is that it will show the origins of the Rebel Alliance leader and Millennium Falcon captain.  

Michael K. Williams' latest acting project is co-directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The story is being taken care of by screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan together with his younger son, 37-year-old Jon. The "Han Solo" spin-off follows the path of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" as it will take place before "A New Hope."
