If you think you've seen everything in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, think again. It appears that the fifth movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," will have more exciting things in store for fans and even scarier monsters to face.

As the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" release date inches closer, the first full-length trailer of Captain Jack Sparrow's latest adventures in the high seas has finally been released. Aside from the expected sword-fighting, sailing and facing evil pirates, the new trailer offers an interesting feature - ghost sharks.

According to Nerdist, ghosts and death play a central theme in "Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow is being chased down by an undead pirate hunter, portrayed by Javier Bardem. Bardem's Armandon Salazar has only one purpose: wipe out every pirate on the seas, including Sparrow. The concept of ghost sharks is far scarier than any other reimagining of sharks since a human being would find it impossible to fend off a shark in ghost form. They can hurt, but it would be impossible to shoo them away.

There has been a lot of talk that "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" may be the final adventure for the swash-buckling fantasy film. There have also been rumors that this would be Depp's last outing as the fan favorite Jack Sparrow. Co-director Joachin Rønning, however, doesn't want the franchise to end just yet.

"It's difficult to ever know. I think that there's always... this is the beginning of the finale. [laughs] It depends on how you look at it. But I never take anything for granted, and I love the franchise," Rønning told CinemaBlend. "I don't know if it's the last one, or if they'll make another ten of them -- I don't know! But I hope so!"

One possible aspect that would suggest a continuation after "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is the fact that the upcoming film will introduce two new young characters, Henry Turner (son of Orlando Bloom's Will Turner) and Carina Smyth (rumored daughter of Captain Barbosa). It is presumed that the two will take over the wheel of the ship as the franchise moves forward in the future.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be released on May 26.
