Funimation announced last month that "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will make its comeback this coming April 1. Since then, the anime's staff have been spilling some beans to the media, Tetsuro Araki and Masashi Koizuka in particular.

"Attack on Titan" Season 1 aired its last episode on Nov. 1, 2014. That is almost three years ago and since that time, fans have been hankering for "Attack on Titan" Season 2. Well, they are getting what they wanted as the next installment of the titanic anime will air in Japan in less than a month. And just a few weeks before Eren and the Survey Corps return, two major staff members teased what fans can expect.

Chief Director Tetsuro Araki said in an interview with ANIPLUS Asia that the focal points of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will change. Unlike Season 1, the upcoming season will take a look at characters like Ymir or Krista. In that regard, Araki admitted that the anime did not give much depth to those characters in the first season. That is why, in Season 2, they will put the spotlight on those names, Geek wrote. That, according to Araki, will be one of the highlights in the next season.

Director Masashi Koizuka confirmed the change in character highlights, too. He said that Ymir and Krista are the ones that will shine in "Attack on Titan" Season 2. The reason that they will be focusing more on those two is that now they are involved in many events. Furthermore, other characters who did not get much notice in Season 1 will get some major screen time too, Comic Book shared.

Koizuka said that during the downtime between Season 1 and "Attack on Titan" Season 2, the staff has been working on their skills. And that is why the creative team can produce whatever it is the director imagined and more. All that fans will soon see when the anime returns.
