Blake Shelton recently teased the possibility of proposing Gwen Stefani on "The Voice" Season 12. However, many are wondering if Shelton's words were merely meant as a publicity stunt to boost the ratings of the reality show.

The very relationship of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani has had to face quite some criticism over the time as people questioned whether the two singers are really together or just dating for the cameras. If Shelton were to get down on one knee and present a big shiny rock to Stefani, it would not only immortalize "The Voice" Season 12 but also validate their relationship, Refinery29 reports.

However, there are those long-time viewers of the show who don't want "The Voice" Season 12 to become like "The Bachelor" because they believe that it is a show which searches for singing sensations and not romance. But there are also Shelton and Stefani shippers who are very excited to see their dream couple commit to each other on national television.

Weirdly, Gwen Stefani told Entertainment Tonight in an interview that she was nervous about returning to judge "The Voice" Season 12, with Shelton. "I was like, 'This is going to be weird!'" said Stefani. "But, you know, the show is so real. All it is is us just being there and being us. So, it's been really fun."

So far, people have loved the chemistry between the Shelton and Stefani on "The Voice" Season 12. But would Shelton really take it one step further and propose to Stefani in front of the cameras?

Stefani has expressed time and again in the past that she wants to settle down as fast as possible and start a family of her own, even though she has refrained from mentioning who the lucky guy would be. Nevertheless, if Blake Shelton were to propose Gwen Stefani on "The Voice" Season 12, it would inevitably boost the ratings and make for one of the most memorable onscreen proposals ever.
