"Longmire" Season 6 is due this year but only a few details about the new season are confirmed. One of this is Lou Diamond Phillips sitting in the directorial chair.

On Sunday, Lou Diamond Phillips announced on his Twitter account that he is directing the second episode of "Longmire" Season 6. He is overjoyed for the opportunity to work behind the camera after playing as Henry Standing Bear, Walt Longmire's (Robert Taylor) best friend in the series.

"Ah, but I am here! I have the honor of directing the second episode so I'm cooking my vegetarian DP dinner while we research. #Longmire," Lou Diamond Phillips wrote on his post.

"Longmire" fans need not worry about Lou Diamond Phillips helming an episode because the job is not new to the actor, although this is his first in the "Longmire" series. The "La Bamba" star has directed "Twilight Zone" and 'The Outer Limits," Cartermatt reported.

Directing and acting on the same project can be quite tiresome and complicated. However, it is doable. A number of actors have done it before. For instance, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder did it for "The Vampire Diaries."

However, it is still unsure if Lou Diamond Phillips will be directing himself. The last "Longmire" season, ended in a cliffhanger with Henry in grave danger. If he will survive and appear in the second episode, then Phillips might direct himself.

Whether Henry makes it out alive or not, Lou Diamond Phillips is clearly up for the challenge of directing the second episode of "Longmire" Season 6. This is something that fans have to look forward to in the new season.

Meanwhile, Adam Bartley revealed the title of the premiere episode for "Longmire" Season 6. The actor shared a photo of his script on Twitter with episode #601 titled "The Eagle and the Osprey."
